Performance-based bonus for Capitol employees eyed
THE PROVINCIAL Government of Negros Occidental is eyeing a performance-based bonus (PBB), which will depend on the performance and the salary grade of each employee, as one components for the extra bonus to be given to the Capitol workers next month.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II said yesterday, November 14, that Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has already decided not to give the Incentive Benefit for Exemplary Services (Ibes) because it has become problematic.
This, after the provincial government had received a Notice of Disallowance or Audit Information Memorandum from the Commission on Audit (COA), Diaz said.
PBB, he said, is not across the board, assuring however that Capitol employees will receive extra bonus.
The amount of the extra bonus is yet to be determined, the official said, adding that he will meet with the finance cluster to ascertain the amount of the extra bonus of the employees.
Other components of the extra bonus are Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) and Performance Enhancement Incentive (PEI).
Starting November 15, government employees are expecting their 13th month pay plus P5,000 each as announced by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Diaz assured that the province is ready for its savings and is very much willing to give back to the employees for the efficient utilization of funds.
However, the question is if it is allowed by the DBM, he said.
“Definitely we will not give the Ibes,”he added.*
