LGU closes poultry farm in Victorias City
THE VICTORIAS City Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) has discontinued the operation of a poultry farm at Hacienda Timawa in the city’s Barangay XI on November 14, 2022.
The closure was mandated due to non-compliance with the standard minimum distance of 500 meters away from the major road, no relocation within 30 days upon inspection conducted last June 7 as recommended by the Joint Inspection Team (JIT), and lack of business permit.
Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez personally visited the site and joined the BPLO in closing the establishment.
This is the first foreclosure that happened under his administration.
In his Facebook post, Benitez said, “Aton padayon nga hatagan importansya ang pagduso sang transparency, accountability, kag pagdisiplina sang tanan nga public kag private establishments sa ciudad sang Victorias (We continue to give importance on pushing for transparency, accountability and discipline among the public and private establishments in the city of Victorias.”
City Administrator Atty. Lindolf De Castro, City Legal Officer Atty. Meddie Arbolardo Jr., BPLO OIC Merlita Bayaban, members of the JIT, Lt. Col Roy Rodrigo Gutierrez, and Punong Barangay Barnuevo were also present in the activity.
