Negocc hopes to get national Drug Abuse Council award
NEGROS Occidental provincial government is hoping that the province will get a national Anti-drug Abuse Council Award, a provincial official said over the weekend.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II said that they have high hopes of getting the award after the province was named among the Regional Awardees by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
“This only shows that our campaign against illegal drugs has been effective and that we have a functional Anti-drug Abuse Council,” Diaz said
Other Provincial Regional Awardees i. western Visayas are Aklan, Iloilo and Guimaras.
This also proves that we are in the right direction in the utilization of funds intended for our anti Drug campaign, Diaz stressed.
Meanwhile, Himamaylan City is also a recipient of the 2022 national and regional Anti-drug Abuse performance award.
“This is in line with our intensified anti-drug campaign in partnership with DILG,” Mayor Raymond Tongson said in a statement.
Tongson acknowledged the cooperation of the local officials as well as the barangay officials in the campaign against illegal drugs.
“We offer this award to all the agencies and stakeholders who are part of our campaign for “Kontra sa illegal Droga,” the mayor added.
Tongson also said that under his administration, they will also make more initiatives so that all barangays in the city will be declared drug cleared barangays.
