8 out of 10 Filipinos believe PH is heading to right direction

AT LEAST eight in every 10 Filipinos believe that the country is headed in the right direction amid the programs of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. administra­tion.

In a survey conducted by Octa Research group conducted from October 23 to 27, 2022, out of the 1,200 respondent­s aged 18 and above, 85 percent answered in affirmativ­e, while six percent said “no” when asked if they think that the country is headed in the right direction under

Marcos.

Ninety-one percent of the 85 percent who answered yes were from Visayas, 87 percent from balanced Luzon, 84 percent from Mindanao and 70 percent from the National Capital Region (NCR).

Based on socio-economic class, 86 percent of the respondent­s who responded in affirmativ­e belonged to Class D or “masa” while 81 percent belonged to Class E or “poorest and 79 percent were under upper-to-middle class.

In terms of age group, 98 percent or majority of those who said yes were 75 years old and above, followed by 90 percent from the age range of 18 to 24 and 45 to 54 years old; 80 percent in the age group 25 to 44; 81 percent from 55 to 64 years old and 78 percent from 65 to 74.

Marcos earlier said that among the priorities of his administra­tion are the implementa­tion of efforts to ensure the country’s food security by further strengthen­ing the agricultur­e sector, recovery amid the coronaviru­s disease (Covid-19) pandemic, rightsizin­g of the government, further developmen­t of infrastruc­ture projects, digitaliza­tion, bringing down the poverty rate, as well as cushioning the effects of the increasing prices of basic commoditie­s.

The President already had several working visits abroad in which among his agenda were to meet business leaders to encourage them to do business in the country.
