Children’s month celebration with KALIPAY NEGRENSE
he Kalipay Negrense Foundation spearheaded the celebration of children’s month in collaboration with the non-government organizations (NGOS) working for the causes of children.
They organized a three-day Children’s Weekend at SM City Bacolod on November 25 to 27.
This advocacy fair featured an exhibit showing the different programs and services of various center-based and community based organizations in Negros Occidental.
Mhel Enderes Sillador, the Chairman of the ABSNET Western Visayas and Executive Director of Kalipay Negrense Foundation said that event was an opportunity for them to share with the community.
The realities that disadvantaged children are experiencing from malnutrition, abuse, lack of access to education and neglect is real and how these organizations can unite and work together to address this problem.
Anchored in the theme “Protecting Children is Everyone’s Business,” Anna Balcells, the Founder and
President of Kalipay Negrense Foundation offered to organize all the efforts of the local government units and all participating NGOS in making sure that there will no child living on the street of Bacolod before the year ends.

Jose Lacson, in a message read by his
Executive Assistant Chacha Magallanes-tan said that protection of children is not an option but a solemn responsibility of the home, the government and the entire society.
The three-day Children’s Weekend was participated by Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Negrense Volunteers for Change, University of St La Salle’s Bahay Pagasa, Home of Hope, Recoletos Handumanan Resource Center, Holy Infant Nursery, Negrosanon Youth Young Leaders Institute, House of Friendship, Christian Foundation for Persons with Disability, Rotary Club of Bacolod Central, Virlanie Faith and Felix Yusay Foundation.*
