Alleged drug personality shot dead in Bacolod City

AN ALLEGED drug personality was shot to death by an unidentified assailant at Purok Kawayanan, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City at about 12:10 a.m. yesterday, November 30.

Police identified the fatality as Jerol Marcellana, 28, a resident of the said village.

Captain Armilyn Vargas, commander of Police Station 3, said the victim was sitting in an alley near a computer shop when the suspect approached and fired at him.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, but he did not survive.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime four empty shells of unidentified firearms.

Vargas said the suspect, who was wearing a jacket and helmet, also fled.

“Possibly, the suspect only parked his motorcycle near the area and walked towards the victim,” she said.

While he was wounded, she added, Marcellana managed to run but he fell to the ground.

The police are eyeing grudge and illegal drugs as possible motives in the killing of the victim.

Vargas said Marcella was also included on their drug watchlist.

Police Station 3 is still conducting further investigation to determine to identity of the suspect.*
