Mom’s Radio to relaunch in Bacolod

- BYCARLAN. CAÑET

SOUTHERN Broadcasting Network (SBN), operated by Solar Entertainment Corporation, will relaunch Mom’s Radio in Bacolod City on September 3.

SBN vice president Linnie Mayoralgo Dinopol, who was in Bacolod City yesterday, said that Mom’s Radio (90.3 FM) is an innovative radio station which merges the FM and AM traditional kind of broadcasting. “It’s both talk and music,” she said. The focus of our content is on mothers and women, she said, adding that they believed that mothers and women have a huge influence in promoting quality life at home, among family members and also in the community.

“It’s like talking about how children grow up with the right upbringing. Mothers are more hands on and they bring strong influence among children and at home,” she said.

She further said they involve parents and children in the talk.

“We try to penetrate awareness among them through social media where they are most interested in right now,” she said.

She also said they engaged young people to get fresh ideas and to catch the attention of the young generation.

Mom’s Radio was operating in Bacolod until 2009. The change of ownership and the broadcast company happened within that period. We have reformatted in terms of talk and music we offer, she said.

She added that there will be local anchors soon because the direction will be on the local programming.

Right now, they are airing from Manila and delivered to five provinces and eventually, they will be in Zamboanga and Tacloban, she said.

They will also relaunch the “Super Moms Club” in Bacolod City, a club of mothers who will be the prime movers of women empowerment through information, education and entertainment, she said.*
