Capi­tol turns over P1.1-M barangay in­sur­ance claims

NE­GROS Oc­ci­den­tal Gov­er­nor Al­fredo Marañon Jr. turned over P1,175,000 worth of checks to the ben­e­fi­cia­ries of the Barangay In­sur­ance Pro­gram for Barangay Tan­ods, Of­fi­cials, and Em­ploy­ees at the Pro- vin­cial Capi­tol Tues­day.

The checks were re­ceived by the fam­ily-ben­e­fi­cia­ries of the in­sured in­di­vid­u­als com­ing from the dif­fer­ent cities and mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties of Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal and were also ac­com­pa­nied by their re­spec­tive au­tho­rized barangays of­fi­cials.

The Barangay In­sur­ance Pro­gram is un­der the Spe­cial Pro­grams and Con­cerns Divi­sion of the Pro­vin­cial Ad­min­is­tra­tor’s Of­fice./pr The eval­u­at­ing team was led by Ilde­fonso Orquejo Jr. of the DILG. Other eval­u­a­tors were Atty. Philip Bernard Ca­pa­dosa of the Civil Ser­vice Com­mis­sion, Pamela Denise Cababasay of the Depart­ment of Tourism, Myren Zer­rudo of the En­vi­ron­men­tal Man­age­ment Bu­reau, PCI Rolando Araño of the Philip­pine Na­tional Po­lice, Maria Vic­to­ria Borines of the Dept. of La­bor and Em­ploy­ment, Kris­tine So­las of the Dept. of Health, Noemi Ale­dron of the Dept. of Agri­cul­ture, Nelia Ma­bilog of Lions Club, and Fran­cis Oliver Or­tiz, Dar­relle Thea Abad, Karen Joy Man­suelo, Aaron An­daya, and Ellen Sibag of the DILG.

Ac­cord­ing to Orquejo, the Ex­cell Awards is not only aimed at giv­ing recog­ni­tion but also in­tends to help LGUS in man­ag­ing their per­for­mance.

Lacson said that more than the award, the Pro­vin­cial Gov­ern­ment is do­ing its best in terms of gov­ern­ment ser­vice that ben­e­fits the Ne­grenses./pr
