Arevalo to re­place De­soyo as Ne­gros army com­man­der

THE 303rd In­fantry Bri­gade of the Philip­pine Army based in Mur­cia will have a new com­man­der ef­fec­tive Mon­day.

Colonel Bene­dict Arevalo, com­man­der of 301st IB based in Iloilo City, will swap post with Col. Al­berto De­soyo as the 303rd IB com­man­der.

Arevalo used to be an in­tel­li­gence of­fi­cer of the 302nd In­fantry Bri­gade in Ne­gros Is­land from 1994 to 1995 and then from 1996 to 1998.

He also served as in­tel­li­gence and op­er­a­tions of­fi­cer of the de­funct 3rd ID’S 7th In­fantry Bat­tal­ion from 1992 to 1994.

Arevalo will have a big­ger re­spon­si­bil­ity, as he will su­per­vise four Army bat­tal­ions in Ne­gros, be­ing the new com­man­der of the 303rd IB.

He be­longs to Philip­pine Mil­i­tary Academy Class 1990.

He has two other sib­lings serv­ing the AFP, who are also grad­u­ates of PMA. One of them is Ma­jor Gen­eral Robert Arevalo, Vice Com­man­der of the Philip­pine Army.*
