Meralco still ‘interested’ to pull trigger for possible Parks trade

-

WITH the ongoing situation between Ray Parks and the Blackwater Elite, rumors and speculations are all over — starting from when he’ll get to play in the PBA and which jersey is he set to suit up.

Earlier reports had the Meralco Bolts linked in trade discussions wherein they’ll have to part ways with floor general Baser Amer in order to acquire last draft’s No. 2 pick.

When asked to further explain into detail, Meralco Bolts team governor Al Panlilio bared that he will be interested to make that happen if the opportunity presents itself, but it’s all up to what happens behind closed doors for the Elite.

“It’s up to Blackwater actually, siyempre they own the rights of Bobby Ray (Parks). If that’s true, I’m very interested to make that happen. Right now, I actually don’t know,” said Panlilio to the media yesterday.

As the team prepares for the upcoming 2019 season, the Norman Black-mentored team was able to finalize deals with veteran frontliner Gabby Espinas, and rookies in Trevis Jackson and Bong Quinto — all of which that could help their campaign.

Furthermore, he assured that despite the lack of height in their roster, they will try to compensate through their emphasis on speed and shooting.

“We were able to sign up Gabby Espinas to strengthen naman our big men. Although I think he’s had some surgery on his knee, so he won’t be available until, I heard, February. We’ve signed our new two rookies, si Jackson and si Quinto,” explained the amiable executive.

“We still don’t have the height but hopefully we can get it with speed, better shooting and laban lang. Laban lang kami,” he added./ foxsports.ph
