8 Silaynons nabbed for P300K in ‘shabu’
EIGHT persons were arrested in a buy-bust at Barangay Mambulac in Silay City, Negros Occidental, which resulted to the recovery of P300,000 worth of suspected shabu Thursday, January 31.
Superintendent Noel Polines, city police chief, identified the target subjects as Noriel Peromingan, 21, and his aunt Geniveb Solano, 35, both residents of the said village. Both are target listed drug personalities.
Also arrested were newly-identified drug personalities Alvin Rey Barbas, 35; Audie Ferrer, 35; Danilo Jimiera, 53; Roy Toledo Hillangga, 43; Julieta Taño, 40; and Geniveb’s sister Ana Margarita Solano, 31, a level three high-value target, who were all caught inside the house of Peromingan’s grandmother during the operation.
They were probably there for a transaction or to get supply, Polines said.
Police recovered from them 14 sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 20 grams, weighing scale, drug paraphernalia, the P500 marked money, P3,500 boodle money, and a cellular phone.
Polines said Ana Margarita is reportedly under the drug matrix of Silay’s high-value target Michael Divinagracia while Peromingan is Divinagracia’s alleged drug courier and trusted man.
Peromingan distributes his supply to different areas in the province and Bacolod City, Polines said.
Divinagracia remains at large.
Peromingan and Geniveb will be facing charges for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia while the other suspects will be charged for illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
All suspects are detained at Silay City Police Station./ GYM
