GMA Net­work wins Best Sta­tion at 7th Kag­itin­gan Awards

LEAD­ING broad­cast com­pany GMA Net­work dom­i­nates the Bataan Penin­sula State Univer­sity (BPSU)’S 7th Kag­itin­gan Awards for Tele­vi­sion af­ter win­ning the “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Himpi­lan ng Telebisyon” award along with 15 other ma­jor recog­ni­tions for var­i­ous Ka­puso pro­grams and per­son­al­i­ties. The award­ing cer­e­mony was held last May 29 in Balanga City, Bataan.

The Net­work’s flag­ship prime­time news­cast 24 Oras was rec­og­nized as “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na News Pro­gram” while pub­lic af­fairs show Alis­towas cited as “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Pub­lic Ser­vice Pro­gram.”

Mean­while, top-rat­ing com­edy an­thol­ogy Dear Uge took home the “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Com­edy Show” while the “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Drama Se­ries” award was won by wellloved Af­ter­noon Prime se­ries My Spe­cial Tatay. The “Pi­naka­m­ag­it­ing na Drama An­thol­ogy” award went tomag­pakailan­man.

BPSU also rec­og­nized GMA News TV pro­grams In­ves­tiga­tive Doc­u­men­taries as the “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na In­ves­tiga­tive Pro­gram,” Biyahe ni Drew as the “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Mag­a­zine Pro­gram,” and Reel Time as the “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Doc­u­men­tary Pro­gram.”

Sev­eral Ka­puso per­son­al­i­ties were also hon­ored that night. GMA News pil­lars Jes­sica Soho and Arnold Clavio were named as “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Per­son­al­i­dad ng News Pro­gram” forstate of the Na­tion with Jes­sica Soho and “Pi­naka­m­ag­it­ing na Per­son­al­i­dad ng Pub­lic Ser­vice Pro­gram” for Alisto, re­spec­tively.

Maki Pulido won as “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Per­son­al­i­dad ng Doc­u­men­tary Pro­gram” for Re­porter’s Notebook while Malou Man­ga­has was cho­sen as “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Per­son­al­i­dad ng In­ves­tiga­tive Pro­gram” for In­ves­tiga­tive Doc­u­men­taries. Drew Arel­lano, on the other hand, was rec­og­nized as “Pi­naka­m­ag­it­ing na Per­son­al­i­dad ng Mag­a­zine Pro­gram” for Biyahe ni Drew.

Com­plet­ing the list of Ka­puso win­ners were Vic Sotto and Maine Men­doza who won as “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Per­son­al­i­dad ng Com­edy Show” for Daddy’s Gurl while ver­sa­tile Ka­puso ac­tor Ken Chan brought home the “Pi­naka-mag­it­ing na Per­son­al­i­dad ng Drama Se­ries” for My Spe­cial Tatay.

The Bpsu-kag­itin­gan Awards for Tele­vi­sion rec­og­nizes pro­grams and per­son­al­i­ties that pro­mote brav­ery (kag­itin­gan) in main­tain­ing so­cial and per­sonal val­ues.
