GMA Network wins Best Station at 7th Kagitingan Awards
LEADING broadcast company GMA Network dominates the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU)’S 7th Kagitingan Awards for Television after winning the “Pinaka-magiting na Himpilan ng Telebisyon” award along with 15 other major recognitions for various Kapuso programs and personalities. The awarding ceremony was held last May 29 in Balanga City, Bataan.
The Network’s flagship primetime newscast 24 Oras was recognized as “Pinaka-magiting na News Program” while public affairs show Alistowas cited as “Pinaka-magiting na Public Service Program.”
Meanwhile, top-rating comedy anthology Dear Uge took home the “Pinaka-magiting na Comedy Show” while the “Pinaka-magiting na Drama Series” award was won by wellloved Afternoon Prime series My Special Tatay. The “Pinakamagiting na Drama Anthology” award went tomagpakailanman.
BPSU also recognized GMA News TV programs Investigative Documentaries as the “Pinaka-magiting na Investigative Program,” Biyahe ni Drew as the “Pinaka-magiting na Magazine Program,” and Reel Time as the “Pinaka-magiting na Documentary Program.”
Several Kapuso personalities were also honored that night. GMA News pillars Jessica Soho and Arnold Clavio were named as “Pinaka-magiting na Personalidad ng News Program” forstate of the Nation with Jessica Soho and “Pinakamagiting na Personalidad ng Public Service Program” for Alisto, respectively.
Maki Pulido won as “Pinaka-magiting na Personalidad ng Documentary Program” for Reporter’s Notebook while Malou Mangahas was chosen as “Pinaka-magiting na Personalidad ng Investigative Program” for Investigative Documentaries. Drew Arellano, on the other hand, was recognized as “Pinakamagiting na Personalidad ng Magazine Program” for Biyahe ni Drew.
Completing the list of Kapuso winners were Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza who won as “Pinaka-magiting na Personalidad ng Comedy Show” for Daddy’s Gurl while versatile Kapuso actor Ken Chan brought home the “Pinaka-magiting na Personalidad ng Drama Series” for My Special Tatay.
The Bpsu-kagitingan Awards for Television recognizes programs and personalities that promote bravery (kagitingan) in maintaining social and personal values.
