PDC approves endorsement of Panay-guimaras-negros Island Bridge feasibility study
THE NEGROS Occ. Provincial Development Council (PDC) has approved to endorse a resolution for the conduct of a feasibility study of the Panay-guimaras-negros Island Bridges Project with
inclusion of other viable areas in the proposal, during the 2nd Quarter PDC Meeting, Friday.
Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. presided over the meeting, held at the Capitol Social in Bacolod City, together with Vice Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.
Engr. Severo Ruiz, officer-in-charge of the Plans and Designs Division of the DPWH – Region VI made a presentation of the Proposed Panay-guimaras-negros Island Bridge Project , which is undergoing a feasibility study under CCC Highway Consultants Co., Ltd. of the Peoples Republic of China, which started in November 2018 and is expected to be completed by January 2020.
He said that the PGN Project will connect the major islands of Panay, Guimaras, and Negros; the two proposed bridges to be constructed are Panay-guimaras Bridge and Guimaras-negros Island Bridge and as part of the preparation for the PGN bridges, some road sections in Guimaras Island are already developed and paved known as the Guimaras Cross Island Roads.
The PDC also approved the various programs and projects for inclusion in the 2019 Annual Investment program worth a total of P179,445,023 and also approved the realignment of the 2019 20 percent Provincial Development Fund worth P120 Million.
In his message, Gov. Marañon urged the PDC members to continue to cooperate and give their full support to the administration of incoming governor, Eugenio Jose Lacson, as he wished more progress for the province.
