GOVERNOR elect Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor elect Jeffrey Ferrer pledge for a harmonious relationship between the Executive and Legislative Branch during the turnover of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan yesterday June 26.

Lacson said he had a wonderful experience as presiding officer of the SP for the last six years.

“It seems six years is only just yesterday. But they say, the rest is history and we cannot summon it back. Let us accept that we have to move forward and this is it,” he said.

He said that the SP have proven the effectiveness of their collaboration and partnership in moving

the province forward.

“The SP became a tool not to obstruct or stop development, but to bolster our claim for maturity as a body that stands as partner in terms of effective legislative agenda in support of the executive plans and programs. Our principled partnership reflected our true sentiment that we can work despite our political beliefs and political differences,” Lacson further said.

For his part, Ferrer said, “Your new Vice Governor is now on board. Allow me to take you all to our journey in legislative realm of public office. I know that I have a bigger shoes to fill in with legislative imprints left by our outgoing Vice Givernor Bong but I will make sure that I will also do my best to serve you with all of my heart.”

Ferrer further assured that he will deliver the kind of service that will dwell on the People’s welfare and for the common good.

“I hope that local laws that we will be crafting here will lead us to the attainment of good governance. It is never easy but let us keep our focus on it because I am sure it will never go wrong,” Ferrer also emphasized.

Graduating board members like Salvador Escalante, Pedro Zayco and Helen Zafra have also delivered their respective messages.

The last session was attended by both the outgoing and incoming SP members./tde
