USLS BSN '94 marks silver anniversary: HOME COMING WORTH CELEBRATING
The University of St. La Salle Bachelor of Science in Nursing Batch 1994 held their Alumni Homecoming recently that brought back the spirit of togetherness among the batchmates and their instructors.
It marked their silver anniversary where they held a two-day celebration on July 5-6, 2019 in Bacolod City.
Seventy of them attended the homecoming, said Regielyn Belgira-baquillos, their batchmate who works in Australia and the one who organized their Silver Alumni Homecoming celebration.
“We get to meet again our batchmates, our clinical instructors and former professors in La Salle again after 25 years. We have reminisced all the memories during our college years and then we felt again the spirit on how to be a La Sallian back home. The homecoming was very fulfilling and made us more proud to be a La Sallian nurse especially for those who are working abroad and for those who have been here and have been serving the local hospitals for a long time. We also gave awards for those local batchmates who have been working in the local hospitals for a long time and preferred to stay here and serve their fellow Filipinos than work abroad,” she said.
She added that being a La Sallian nurse can deliver a world class nursing care. Based on our La Sallian training, it gave us more competence and confidence to look after our patients or deal with the sick people because we were trained in a La Sallian way. We give a lot of emphasis to our patients. We live into a La Sallian spirit anchored on the values of USLS Patron Saint John Baptist de La Salle.
She thanked all her batchmates for the overwhelming response and turnout of our Alumni Homecoming celebration. I wish them all the best in the upcoming years and I hope that they will continue to manifest the La Sallian spirit in them wherever they work and in their journey as La Sallian nurses.*
