Helper in­jured in maul­ing, hack­ing

A 23-YEAR old helper was in­jured af­ter he was mauled and hacked by an uniden­ti­fied as­sailant on Araneta Street at Barangay Sing­cang-air­port in Ba­colod City Wed­nes­day.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the vic­tim as Ar­mando Aldea, a res­i­dent of Barangay Tabu in Kabakan­klan City.

Po­lice Ma­jor Charles Gever, chief of Po­lice Sta­tion 8, said that Aldea sus­tained mul­ti­ple wounds af­ter he was at­tacked by the sus­pek us­ing an ar­nis stick and sug­ar­cane cutter around 11:45 p.m.

He said the vic­tim was work­ing as helper at the house of Cloe Vil­la­campa, 32, of Barangay Sing­cang-Air­port in Ba­colod City.

In­ves­ti­ga­tion showed that be­fore the in­ci­dent, the vic­tim in­vited the sus­pek to have a drink­ing ses­sion in­side the house of Vil­la­campa.

Af­ter an hour, the as­sailant took an empty bot­tle and ar­nis stick and hit the vic­tim.

He (sus­pect) then took a sug­ar­cane cutter and hacked him.

The vic­tim was rushed to a hospi­tal, while the sus­pect fled bring­ing along the lap­top of Vil­la­campa.

Gever said they are still con­duct­ing a thor­ough in­ves­ti­ga­tion to iden­tify and ar­rest the sus­pect.*
