TO AVOID spillover of the killing incidents in Negros Oriental, the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office is conducting seal-off operations in the borders of the two provinces.

Negros Occidental Provincial Police Director, Col. Romeo Baleros said that sealoff operations include setting up of check-points, border control operation and blocking forces in the borders of the two provinces.

Baleros identified the border areas where deployment of more troops are made in Moises Padilla which is stone away from Negros Oriental, La Catellana, Isabela and the CHICKS area which stands for Cauayan, Hinoba-an, Candoni, Kabankalan City and Sipalay City and San Carlos City in the northern side of the province.baleros said that proper scrutiny and intense screening will be made to persons who would like to cross the border and would enter the province from Negros Oriental to make sure that no spillover would cross the province.

Last week series of killings happened in Negros Oriental which is believed to be penetrated by the New People’s Army rebels.

PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde assured that there will be no declaration of Martial Law in Negros Oriental despite the killings and that more than 300 members of PNP Special Action Force are deployed in the province as augmentation force.

On the part of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, he is hoping that it won’t reach to the point that Martial Law will be declared in Negros Oriental.

“It’s a decision of the national government but I hope that it doesn’t reach that point,” he said.

He further said that he is hoping that authorities would find the solution as soon as possible to end the killings in Negros Oriental.*
