Caraps Care gath­ers 800 donors in blood­let­ting

AROUND 800 blood donors from Bacolod City and other parts of the province par­tic­i­pated yes­ter­day for the blood­let­ting com­po­nent of Caraps Care at the Bata Na­tional High School.

Caraps Care, a flag­ship project of Abang Lingkod Partylist Rep. Stephen Pad­u­ano stands for Com­mu­nity As­sis­tance, Re­lief and Peo­ple’s Care Cen­ter is lo­cated in ev­ery mu­nic­i­pal­ity all over the province.

Other com­po­nents of the pro­gram are med­i­cal as­sis­tance, schol­ar­ship and burial as­sis­tance.

“We aim to in­sti­tu­tion­al­ize the blood­let­ting ac­tiv­ity by hold­ing it once a year and then once ev­ery six months in the fu­ture,” Pad­u­ano said.

Pad­u­ano said that the bloods gath­ered dur­ing the blood­let­ting ac­tiv­ity are stored at the Ne­gros First Pro­vin­cial Blood Cen­ter and the Philip­pine Na­tional Red Cross.

Pad­u­ano also re­vealed that the his pro­posed bill on set­ting up a dial­y­sis cen­ter in ev­ery hos­pi­tal run by the gov­ern­ment has al­ready passed the sec­ond read­ing at the com­mit­tee level. Sen­a­tor Grace Poe he said has al­ready as­sured to spon­sor the coun­ter­part bill at the se­nate.
