101 Ne­grenses hired thru Tesda’s job link­ag­ing, net­work­ing ser­vices

SOME 101 Tech­ni­cal and Vo­ca­tional Ed­u­ca­tion and Train­ing (TVET) grad­u­ates in Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal were hired on the spot through the job link­ag­ing and net­work­ing ser­vices of the Tech­ni­cal Ed­u­ca­tion and Skills Au­thor­ity (Tesda).

Tesda-ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal, in a state­ment, said the hired ap­pli­cants form part of the 300 TVET grad­u­ates who par­tic­i­pated in its 25th an­niver­sary and 2nd Na­tional Techvoc Day cel­e­bra­tion re­cently.

Dubbed “World Café Op­por­tu­ni­ties,” the one-day event held at Gaisano City Grand Mall in Ba­colod City gathered nine lo­cal par­tic­i­pat­ing com­pa­nies which pro­vided of 2,200 job va­can­cies.

Tesda-ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal Provin­cial Di­rec­tor Rolando Juanillo, in his mes­sage, said that the cel­e­bra­tion is not just about the agency it­self but more on skilled work­force who have de­cided to take TVET as a way of life.

“Truly our slogan ‘Tesda Abot La­hat’ res­onates the earnest de­sire of the agency that so­cial eq­uity will be en­joyed by all sec­tors wherein a bright fu­ture is in store for all who took the TVET jour­ney,” Juanillo said.

He said that they have in­vited part­ners to pro­vide help for the grad­u­ates to ad­vance eco­nom­i­cally.

“Cre­at­ing sil­ver lin­ings among Filipinos, is al­ways in­spired from men and women who are pas­sion­ate to help trans­form the lives of the peo­ple,” the provin­cial di­rec­tor noted.

Juanillo also asked the lo­cal gov­ern­ment units, par­tic­i­pat­ing com­pa­nies, in­dus­try part­ners, As­so­ci­a­tion of Tech­ni­cal In­sti­tu­tions of Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal, and na­tional gov­ern­ment agen­cies for help­ing the Tesda in mak­ing its pro­grams and ser­vices more ac­ces­si­ble to the clients.

Tesda-ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal said that World Café Op­por­tu­ni­ties is an av­enue for pos­si­ble op­por­tu­ni­ties such as employment, train­ing sup­port and fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance to TVET grad­u­ates in col­lab­o­ra­tion with var­i­ous part­ners in­clud­ing other gov­ern­ment agen­cies.

Par­tic­i­pat­ing grad­u­ates are those from the tourism, in­for­ma­tion and com­mu­ni­ca­tions tech­nol­ogy, and con­struc­tion sec­tors, among oth­ers.
