LAOAG CITY - Laoag City Mayor Chevylle Farinas urges the department heads of the city offices and national agencies that are part of the “Agserbi 24/ 7” to make some innovations of their services to allow the people avail more quality services.

Fariñas on Monday announced that the outreach mobile program of the city will resume on April 30 after it was being deferred because of the month-long fiesta celebration on February.

Farinas said that all city government offices as well as national agencies are now ready to serve the 80 barangays in the city.

“I requested all departments to add new innovations to their respective services for the said program,” Fariñas said.

She explained that the new innovation would prompt people to continue attending the program to experience all the available government services.

The first-term mayor hopes they would be able to conduct Agserbi 24/7 at least twice to all of the city’s barangays.

“So that the people can enjoy new services different from those that are presented for the past years,” Farinas said.

She cited as example the police where the city’s chief of police, P/ Supt. Jeffrey T. Gorospe conducts lectures on self- defense and oth- ers. The police is also looking for other techniques to teach to make it more interesting.

The Bureau of Fire Protection, for its part, would do fire-fighting lectures. They would also conduct actual fire- fighting with the exact procedures and equipment with the participation of the public to make it more effective.

As for health services, Mayor Fariñas instructed the City Health Office to bring more free medicines for the program.

She also asked the City Social Welfare and Development, and Agriculture Offices to improve their demonstrations for livelihood and farming techniques, respectively.

Agserbi 24/7 is a project that brings the city government closer to the people, especially for those who cannot go to the City Hall for various reasons.

It also affords the city’s residents to dialogue with city officials.

To ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the program, Farinas requires the submission of accomplishment of each department every following Monday of the week.

“The report shall also be the basis for funding and shall form part of the budget report so the people may understand,” Farinas said. (PNA)
