8,000 jobs up on Sept. 8

A TOTAL of 3,200 employment opportunit­ies will be offered to jobseekers during the 106th Baguio City Charter Day Job Fair set September 8 from 8 a. m. to 4 p. m. at the Baguio Convention Center.

Public Employment Services Office ( PESO) designate and executive assistant Jose Atanacio of the City Mayor’s Of- fice said 11 overseas placement agencies will participat­e in the fair led by Magsaysay Maritime Corporatio­n with 2,450 job openings and Placewell Int’l. Services Corp. with 1,160 vacancies.

Other overseas firms offering employment opportunit­ies are D A Rodrigo Int’l. Inc. with 113 slots; Ideal Placement and Manpower Services Inc. (formerly Ideal Placement), 180; God’s Will Int’l. Placement Inc., 420; Faasi Int’l. Manpower Services, 350; BS Int’l. Services and Placement Agency Inc., 116; 1st Northern Int’l. Placement Inc., 49; Career Planners Speicalist Int’l. Inc., 305; E- GMP Int’l. Corp., 527; and S&D Manpower Services Inc., 372.

Twenty local firms will also join the ac-

tivities topbilled by Convergys with 500 openings, Texas Instrument­s with 267 and Sitel Philippine­s Corporatio­n with 200 slots.

Other local companies with job tenders are: FC Laranang Group of Companies with 97 slots; Isonn Marketing, six; SM Supervalue, Inc., 116; Baguio Country Club, 140; Tiongsan Harrison, 147; Robinsons Supermarke­t, 11; SM Appliance Center, 20; Sutherland Global Services, 100; Ace Hardware Phils., Inc., 23; Toyota Baguio, 33; Banco De Oro Unibank Inc., 13; LBC Express Inc., four; Noble Trends Unbound, 100; Freshaire Salon, 23; Johnson Controls Inc., 38; and Device Dynamics Asia Phils., 37.

A lone government agency, the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency (PDEA) posted 83 vacancies.

Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the jobs fair, a mainstay in the Baguio Day calendar of activities, is undertaken yearly by the city government through the PESO with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and other government and private agencies to reach out to jobseekers in the city.

Applicants are advised to bring resume with 2 x 2 ID pictures, authentica­ted birth certificat­e, high school or college diploma, transcript of records, NBI, police and barangay clearance, SSS number, taxpayer’s identifica­tion number, medical certificat­e, marriage contract (if married), training certificat­es, profession­al licenses, and certificat­es of employment (if formerly employed).

Applicants will also be treated to health and wellness services like free massage, haircut and manicure/ pedicure. Aileen Refuerzo
