BCC launches glamping site
FOR MILLENIALS, camping is done this way.
Baguio Country Club (BCC) has piloted a glamorous camping activity in the Summer Capital to kick off the holy week holiday.
Andrew Pinero of the BCC said the activity will give younger guests a chance to experience nature with the amenities of a 5Star establishment.
Pinero said the launch of the glamping event at the BCC is at the skating rink area
However, Pinero said BCC is looking at a more forested area in the future for their glamping activity.
It will be the first time BCC has embarked on a glamping event which targets the youthful crowd who will be adventurous enough to try the event.
Pinero said the BCC will provide a pitched tent, cushions likened to that of the BCC beds, pillow and blankets.
“They only have to bring their clothes,” added Pinero.
Camp started Wednesday afternoon at 2PM and the morning after.
Pinero said the activities for the glamping were designed to be a complete experience with an amazing race for participants, acoustic music played at night, a bonfire, roasting to marshmallows and a barbeque.
Pinero said the morning after the glamping, all participants were led to a tree planting activity and made to vow to a pledge to protect and care for the environment.
It was in 2009 when then Department of Tourism – Cordillera regional director Purificacion Molintas introduced glamping in the region.
These pampering mountain treks, deviate from the usual rough and Spartan camping tours, but target Class A markets for outdoor fun.
The Cordillera’s has been tagged as an adventure region offering caving, spelunking, mountain trekking, white water rafting and camping.
The DOT has also encouraged glamping tours in Mt. Apo, safari- style adventure with wine, specialized tents, catering portalets with hot and cold bath.
