Leukemia patient in need of help

-

ASIX-year old girl who has been battling acute lymphocytic leukemia since May 2014 is in need of help to sustain her maintenance chemotherapy.

Mordayne Gay Naslangan, eldest of the three children of a farmer couple from Sinto, Bauko, Mountain Province, is currently on her 21st of the 36-cycle maintenance chemotherapy and the family could not keep up with the cost of the girl’s cancer management protocol.

In their effort to sustain Mordayne’s treatment which will run for three years, Mordayne’s family had exhausted their financial resources with piled up debts from different sources.

In April last year, Mordayne was among those benefited by the fund pooling by members of the Baguio chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars which ensured the girl’s eighth chemotherapy session scheduled that following month.

Under financial stress after her eldest pulled through seven chemo sessions, Mordayne’s mother Domarlyn then expressed relief when told the veterans led by outgoing and incoming post commanders Larry Senato and Willy Totanes will shoulder the amount.

“We are again appealing for your help for my daughter to pull through the remaining 15 more cycles. We want so much for her to be healed and live a normal life,” Domarlyn said.

At present, Mordayne is said to be responding well with the treatment and can now walk and play by herself.

The doctors said Mordayne has a good chance for a cure but needs to complete her long-term treatment.
