First DepEd day celebration in Mankayan Benguet
AS PART of the celebration of the Mankayan 103rd Foundation Day from March 7-12, the Local Government of Mankayan scheduled March 10 as Teachers’ Day in the Municipality which was held in the municipal town plaza open gym with the theme “Preservation of Indigenous Peoples’ Education Activities and Cultural Performances.”
In connection with the theme, the program was centered on cultural presentations in a form of a contest of the pupils and teachers by zone. For the elementary level, a contest in Music Ensemble which was classified into two pupils’ category and teachers’ category which was contested by zones. For the pupils’ category Zone II won first place, Zone IVsecond place, Zone Ithird place and Zone III- fourth place. Teachers’ category: Zone Ifirst place, Zone IVsecond place, Zone III third place and Zone IIfourth place.
For the Secondary was Dance Drama competition. Participants were a combination of student and teachers which was participated by six secondary schools. Lepanto NHS won first place, Mankayan NHSsecond place, Guinaoang NHS- Third place, Bulalacao NHSFourth place, Bedbed NHS- Fifth place and Balili NHS- Sixth place.
Zone I is comprised of Ca-ew ES, Cabacab ES, Guinanaong ES, Taneg ES, Suyoc ES , Bulalacao ES, Cotcot PS, Lap-angan PS, Taneg PS and Pacda PS. Zone II: Mankayan Central School, Sapid ES, Marivic ES, Bedbed ES. Zone III-Lepanto ES, CabitenES, Paco ES,Colalo ES, Baguyos ES, Ampuntoc ES, Mantiyeng ES, Las-igan ES and Camanpaguey ES . Zone IV- Mogao ES, Balili ES, Am-am ES, Palatong ES, Sayapot PS, Bato PS and Kema PS
The celebration ended with the distribution of certificates for Service Awards to the members of the DepEd who served for 10 years and above.
The event was graced by some division supervisors headed by Mr. Glenn Duguis who was the guest speaker in the said event and Engr. Thomas Consolacion, Vice President and Resident Manager of Lepanto Mining Company.
