LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Mayor Edna Tabanda is anticipating the influx of tourism once the Stonehill Project is finished.

Tabanda said the municipality is set to allocate funding for the construction of a view deck in the area to be able to give the area added mileage in tourism.

The project which aims to paint murals on the mountainside homes is a brainchild of the Department of Tourism Regional Director Venus Tan aiming to beautify the area of StoneHill along KM 3 in La Trinidad, Benguet .

Tabanda said the viewdeck will be placed in the area to give a chance for visitors to take photos of the murals to be painted in the area.

The mural painting is under the RevBloom project of the DOT in the Cordillera region in coordination with Chanum Foundation, the local government unit of La Trinidad, the academe and the barangay.

Murals were designed by local artist while the painting is being done by the community that will adorn homes along the mountain side to give the area a fresh and clean look.

Stone Hill, situated right after the Valley’s welcome arc, is the first destination that visitors will look at as they enter the province capital.

The project is backed by Davies Paints which pledged support and materials.

The DOT's REVBloom Campaign is geared towards a rebloom, re- green and rehabilitation which enjoin community participation in the proposed projects.

Tan has contacted local artist haven, Tam -Awan Village Artists (TVA) for the design concept of the project.
