-

A TRIPARTITE agreement between the University of Baguio represented by Engr. Javier Herminio Bautista, VP for Finance and the UB Alumni Foundation (UBAFI) by its president Engr Eleazer Demayo, with Lucnab Barangay headed by Hon. Enrique Lindaoan was signed for the improvement of a water impounding reservoir by way of a construction of an elevated water tank last February 10, 2017 together with the deed of donation and acceptance at the Lucnab barangay hall.

The provision of this reservoir will aid to an improved delivery of services of the Barangay and its programs a The tank will be used to supplement water storage for the needs for the health clinic, Day care center, Multi-Purpose Hall, and Barangay Office since these areas where activities take place, creates a considerable demand for water.

The realization of the project was made thru a series of assessment and consultations with the beneficiary barangay resulting to identify additional containers to store water while the community thru its officials are working towards an improved water system management in the area. Through a resolution from both UB Alumni and the Barangay Council, UBAFI appropriated fraction of its funds to purchase materials for the structure while the Barangay shoulders the labor of constructing the tank as its counterpart. Ms. Jacquiline Wadasen, a graduate of UB and a council official was selected as coordinator for UB alumni who are residing in the area for activities and programs related to the UBAFI.

The event was attended by the current officers of UBAFI, Dr. Armando Castañeda VP for Academic Affairs, Deans and principals of the schools, personnel from the extension services and campus development offices. The different schools of the university have been working with the barangay for some time thru its extension community outreach services (ECOS). Barangay Lucnab is one of the recipients of University of Baguio’s “Adopt -a-Barangay Program”.
