School heads of Bakun steered their District Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation System
SCHOOL Heads of Bakun District conducted their post Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation of Schools, School Year 2016, 2017 last February 8, 2017 starting at Barangay Kayapa. The monitoring was spearheaded by the new energetic Public School District School Supervisor Dr. Molly Ablaza. The team was composed of the 5 principals and 6 Head teachers coming from the Secondary and Elementary Schools of Bakun District.
The purpose of the monitoring was to ensure that the programs of K 12 were successfully implemented in each school and to follow up their recommendations during the Pre-monitoring and evaluation since there were lots of changes in the curriculum, Implementation of Department of Education Orders and also with the programs regarding the improvement of the teaching -learning process. They also wanted to provide support and technical assistance to teachers, make necessary refinements/revisions on reporting based on data for the improvement of the delivery of teaching.
After the evaluation, they found out that the schools that they had visited were all doing well. Classrooms are ventilated, and structured very well so they are conducive for learning except for classrooms that have limited space due to lack of classroom buildings. The teachers delivered their lessons successfully though they were hard up on the preparation of the new format of lesson planning which seems to be longer than the old way of lesson planning. Dr. Mildred A. Tuazon, the School Principal I of Ampusongan National High School made it clear to all teachers of Kayapa Elementary and Secondary Schools the parts, steps and processes of the Daily Lesson Log under DepEd no. 50 S. 2016. She also emphasized the importance of adopting this kind of lesson plan in order to address the needs of every learner. School Heads also found out that records and forms of teachers were up to date. Instructional materials were ready except for some gadgets and Learners Materials which teachers can’t afford to buy and lack of supplies coming from the Department of Education. They incorporated various instructional supports like ICT, music and others to respond to changes in pupil or student attentiveness. They used variety of space in the classroom from which to present materials. They spoke audibly and clearly, used gestures to enhance meaning and not to release nervous tension. School Heads also appreciated the support of Parents who were always there helping for the development of the school.
Moreover, Dr. Molly Ablaza reiterated the significance of cooperation and unity of school heads and teachers with the help of stakeholders comes the success of every school. UNITY is absolutely essential because we are working toward a common goal.
