Road signs to success
ON a return drive from La Union to Baguio City, I was intrigued by the many road signs posted for the many truckers traveling through Marcos Hiway. “Slow Down, advice 45 km/h.” Throughout the varying grades were signs coaching the truck drivers. It occurred to me that another trucker had tested the roadway. He had evaluated the road then decided what would help other truckers to be safe in their drive down the steep mountain. Wouldn’t it be help to have road signs posted along the pathway of life? That’s what we do as teachers. We were once students and we traveled the educational road just as our students. We have experienced exciting classrooms and some of us have been damaged by ineffective teachers. Let’s readily share our road signs with students. Nowadays we see signs inside the school like “Do your Homework”, “Honesty is the Best Policy”, “Choose to have a Positive Attitude” and many more. They may not always seem to pay attention but don’t be surprised at what they will learn from our experience. What road signs would you post along the pathway of life?
