Gamblers, drug suspect collared in buy bust

AS THE police intensify their campaign against illegal drugs in the city, another jobless man was arrested on March 22 during as buy bust operations.

Ryan Taguiba Tictica a.k.a Ryan, 27, jobless and a resident of Lamut, Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet was arrested by the Baguio City Police Office in coordinati­on with agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency at Room 306 NAPO Lodge, Hilltop, Baguio City.

Seized from his possession were two pieces of heat sealed transparen­t plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, drug parapherna­lia, a cellular phone, P500 buy-bust money and P500 boodle money.

Meanwhile, seven illgal gamblers were also collared by police in the anti-illegal gambling operations at No. 32 New Lucban.

Arrested were identified as Gil Dayret Basa, 51, vendor; Leonila Gammad Tantit, 58, caretaker; Mary Rose Calingayan Maso, 58, housewife and all residents of New Lucban, Baguio City; Geronimo Royol Manyo, 59, driver and a resident of Green Lane Street, Lower Fairview; Robert Fabian Layugan, 59, driver and a resident of Eastern Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet; Arnel Marin Gamboa, 50, businessma­n and a resident of Purok 6 Puksusan,; and Crisanto Gutierrez de Castro, 55, vendor and a resident of Cariño Street.

Confiscate­d from their possession were gambling money amounting to P271.75, one set playing cards, and other gambling parapherna­lia.

The Suspects and confiscate­d items are now under the custody of the concerned operating units and appropriat­e charges were filed against them in court.
