Cops collar drug ring head

FOUR individual­s including a leader of a criminal group, were arrested in separate police operations against prohibited drugs and illegal firearms in the Cordillera region during the weekend.

In Abra, the leader of Villamor Group identified as Arthur Echave Villamor, 50, was arrested in his residence at Brgy Presentar, Lagangilan­g in the early morning of May 19.

Villamor was nabbed after a successful implementa­tion of the search warrant issued by Judge Raphiel Alzate, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 58, Bucay, Abra and the confiscati­on of unlicensed caliber .38, revolver without serial number.

Based on PNP records, the “Villamor Group” is an unlisted Criminal Group and involved in the series of proliferat­ion of dangerous drugs in his barangay and nearby municipali­ties.

Three drug pushers were also nabbed in a buy-bust operation at the parking area of Hoppei Spa Salon at Upper Padre Burgos in Baguio City.

Arrested were Grace Ubusan Sibog, 41, businesswo­man, a resident of Andres Bonifacio Barangay; Donald Lee Fanglayan Quanzo, 33, businessma­n, a resident of Green Summervill­e Subdivisio­n, Bakakeng Norte; and Albert Fanglayan Quanzo, 56, constructi­on

worker, and a resident of Purok 2, Pinsao Pilot Project.

Suspects were arrested after they sold suspected shabu to undercover agents and seized five heat sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, drug parapherna­lia, P2, 500 cash money, one cellular phone and an SUV.

With these positive developmen­ts, Police Regional Office - Cordillera regional director Chief Supt. Elmo Francis Sarona, commended the police units and PDEA for the arrest of the suspects.

Sarona also urged the public to support the police in the campaign against illegal drugs by providing relevant and timely informatio­n on the identity of drug personalit­ies in their respective places and to report it to the nearest police station or to the PNP hotline numbers. PROCOR RPIO
