Final assessment for top performing BPOC on

THE CITY will still assess and evaluate the Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC) of all barangays for this year’s search for best performing barangays 2017.

Previously, the assessment team conducted an on-site visitation to all the barangays, evaluating and validating their performanc­es on administra­tion and governance; environmen­tal management; social services; health, wellness and sanitation services; lupon tagapamaya­pa incentive awards (LTIA) and competitiv­e edge.

Recently, Mayor Mauricio Domogan formed a search committee for the outstandin­g BPOC who will be conducting table assessment and on-site visitation and validation at the barangays.

The team started evaluating and validating the different BPOC’s accomplish­ment untile August 11.

Barangays will be evaluated based on the compositio­n of their BPOC, conduct of regular meeting, proposed policies of the BPOC approved by the sanggunian­g barangay, presence of barangay Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan (POPSP) and its attainabil­ity, outcome of the project implementa­tion in crime prevention, service delivery performanc­e like absence of crime incidents in their

barangay, tanod regular ronda of foot patrol, among others.

Monitoring the performanc­es of the barangays aim to give overall and special awards to the best performing barangays and at the same time identify the strength and limitation­s of each barangays for improvemen­t.

Apart from the three major winners for the search for best performing barangays, nine special awards will also be given to barangays with best in LTIA, child friendly, women, senior citizen, person with disability (PWD), environmen­t, sanitation, nutrition and BPOC.

Winning barangays will be recognized and awarded during the Local Government Month this coming October. Jho Arranz/ Baguio City PIO
