Japanese Film Festival returns to Baguio

THE JAPAN Foundation in celebratin­g the 20th anniversar­y of its Japanese Film Festival (JFF) in the Philippine­s, announces the full lineup of films to be screened in Baguio City for free.

Widely acknowledg­ed as EIGASAI, the JFF will be held at SM City Baguio Cinema from Thursday, August 10 to Sunday, August 13, and the Japan Foundation is proud to feature 12 award-winning and recently released films including animation, drama, comedy and documentar­y.

Of the films to be screened, 11 are with English subtitles and one is dubbed in Filipino offering film lovers the chance to experience their favorite genre while discoverin­g something new.

According to Amy Kurokawa of the Japan Foundation Manila Office, all screenings at SM City Baguio Cinema are free and seats are available on a first-come, firstserve­d basis.

The films to be screened on 10-Aug (Thu) are: 1:30PM – “Bakuman” (Filipinodu­bbed) PG, 4:30PM “The Long Excuse” R13, 7:30PM –“The Magnificen­t Nine” PG, on 11-Aug (Fri) 1:30PM “Chihayafur­u” Part.1 PG, 4:30PM – “What A Wonderful Family!” PG and at 7:30PM – “Creepy” R13. On 12Aug (Sat), the following films will be screened: 1:30PM “Sweet Bean” (AN) PG, 4:30PM –“Tsukiji Wonderland” PG and at 7:30PM “Her Love Boils Bathwater” PG. On 13-Aug (Sun), the following films will be screened: 1:30PM – “The Anthem of the Heart” PG, 4:30PM

“Chihayafur­u” Part.2 PG and at 7:30PM – “The Mohican Comes Home” R13.

The JFF-EIGASAI 2017 started in Manila in July honoring the Philippine­s-Japan Friendship Month. It features over 100 screenings in nine venues across the Philippine­s including Manila, Cebu, Davao, Baguio and Iloilo. PR/ CNA
