PRA held rain-blessed celebration in Summer Capital Baguio City
RAINor shine the show must go on. That seemed to be the road map that prodded the Philippine Retirement Authority leadership to push through with the affair last July 18, 2017 venued at New Town Hotel along historic Leonard Wood Road, of this City. The weather was predictably inclement at this time of the year in the northern Luzon hinterlands highlands where General Manager Bienvenido Chy of Philippine Retirement Authority obviously followed the biblical “Quod scripsi, scripsi.” (What I have written, I have written.”)
In scoutly response to the Philippine Retirement Authority invitation, received BARP President Federico A. Balanag led a hearty contingent of his organization to participant in the scheduled celebration. The group included BOD Rogelio Urbanozo, Internal auditor, Pre-membership Lecturer Treasurer Julieta Palasi, VicePresident for Membership and Education Dr. Juliet Bagano, BOD Col.Victorio Afalla (ret.), BOD Juanita Gabaen, Credit Committee Chairman Rodolfo Abella, Business Manager Ptr. Renato Asuncion, and Appraiser Narciso Tabajen, among others.
Another prominent Baguio personage who did not fail expectation despite downpour, wind and traffic was lone Congressman “Mark” Go, who welcomed the audience. The audience was manifestly multi-national as easily discerned by their colors, languages and features but were one in enjoying the ethnic dances given in sample by the BCNHS student dancers. When gongs sounded for the Ibaloi, bendiyan dance, all selfconsciousness suddenly disappeared and the dance floor became representatively one of one mankind. How edifying at a tune when a bizarre happening was taking place in and other city in the southern Philippines. The light such twin event for non-agrarian “Nars” Tabajen, we can only pray and hope that peace will soon prevail throughout this Land of Orient Seas that we can call our only country. Like him who shouted “Cordillera” answer to a question and thereby won a price from the Emcee.
Thank you, G.M. Bienvenido Chy, thanks for honoring your commitment to make Baguio and its people known to peoples of the world.
