PDEA asked to rectify marijuana production tag

-

WITHOUT the necessary data to prove the country’s Summer Capital is the source of marijuana production in the region, Cordillera Regional Development Council (RDC) chairman and Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan demanded the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to rectify its claim.

The move was made during the quarterly meeting of the RDC and the Regional Peace and Order Council in Apayao which was later backed by the different provinces in the region.

“We have said it before that Baguio City has been a transit area of marijuana coming from the hinterlands of the Cordillera and have never been the source of marijuana production,” the mayor stressed.

“I hope these agencies should submit the appropriate data pertaining to their allegation because when you talk about data, it is presumed that it is well validated and correct, eh hindi naman tama yung sinubmit,” the city chief executive said.

Domogan also asked the PDEA representative on how the agency could show specific identity or identities of personalities residing in the city presumed by the agency to be the source and involved in the sale of marijuana.

“Have you identified the personalities

involved in the illegal drug trade of Marijuana in the city and how do you define source?” the mayor added.

Domogan also asked Police Regional Office - Cordillera regional director Chief Supt. Elmo Francis Sarona who was at the meeting to advice the regional drug enforcement agency to do the necessary rectification. Jonathan Llanes
