Tublay records only two theft cases since 2016

- Jonathan Llanes

DESPITE having only 29 police personnel assigned in the eight barangays of Tublay, authorities still continue to maintain its peace and order situation for the 17,892 residents of this 5th class municipality.

Tublay Municipal Police Office deputy chief of police Jaime Guminigin explained this is due to the continuous engagement with the community specially the various Barangay Police Action Team who acts as force multipliers in maintaining peace and order.

As per record, the Tublay MPO listed since August last year to present, only two cases of theft and robbery, while most of the listed cases filed were vehicular accidents plying the Halsema Highway.

“Responding to the few cases of vehicular accidents, we use ‘OPLAN Montero’ as an education campaign for motorists and students for them to be aware of what the various road signage are. It is considered as one of our best practices by the municipality,” Guminigin said.

Guminigin pointed out their coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways to place more signages as added precaution to

the motoring and riding public.

Another best practice by the Tublay MPO is “Solar Mo, Bantayam” (Guard Your Space), wherein close to 20 barangay tanods who form part of their BPAT have undergone arrest and patrolling procedures, aside from gun safety and gun handling trainings for them to be equipped in times of need.

The two best practices by Tublay police have led to only 10 cases of vehicular accidents.
