PSA urges participation in census

THE PHILIPPINE Statistics Authority (PSA) called on households to participate in the 2017 Listing of Farm Households (LFH) which aims to update the sampling frame for agricultural surveys the agency conducts in the country.

Specifically, the listing operation intends to come up with an updated list of households engaged in agricultural activities, as well as to develop a list of agricultural operators.

The conduct of the LFH was started on September 11 and will last up to December 13 this year in the province of Benguet to include Baguio City.

A total of 35 barangays in the 11 municipalities and Baguio were considered as primary Sampling Units (PSU) that will be covered in the listing operation for the province.

These are Caliking and Naguey in Atok; Kayapa in Bakun; Ambuclao and BobokBisal in Bokod; Dalupirip, Tinongdan and Virac in Itogon; Cuba, Labueg, Pudong, Pongayan and Taba-ao in Kapangan; Poblacion in Kibungan; Balili and Poblacion in La Trinidad; Paco in Mankayan; Bayabas, Kamog and Poblacion in Sablan; Nangalisan in Tuba; and Ambongdolan, Basil and Tublay Central in Tublay.

Moreover, the listing operation also covered barangays in Baguio City like Bakakeng Central, Bakakeng Norte, Cabinet Hill- Teacher’s Camp, Camp 8, Irisan, Loakan Proper, Military Cut-off, North Sanitary Camp, Upper Quirino-Magsaysay Subdivision, Dontogan and Middle Quezon Hill Subdivision.

All households in sample barangays will be enumerated to determine the presence of household members who operate a crop farm and/or a livestock or poultry farm during the period of September 16 last year to the end of August this year.

The PSA is asking support from households and agricultural operators of the sample barangays to give truthful and complete information to our trained enumerators keeping in mind that reliable data could help formulate concrete plans and programs that are responsive to the needs of the people.
