300 families benefit from “ChristMasaya 2017”
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet - At least 300 families from the Itogon and La Trinidad benefited from the early Christmas program and gift giving activity by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines( NGCP) here recently.
Families from the host barangays of Beckel and Ambiong in La Trinidad and Loakan in Itogon were treated to a day of fun and games and a gift giving hosted by the NGCP at its headquarters in Beckel in an event dubbed as “ChristMasaya 2017.”
NGCP communications and public affairs officer Melma Batario said the families came from the various sitios in the areas where the transmission towers and lines are located.
NGCP OIC district head Mario Galang said this is one way the NGCP shares its blessings and let other people benefit from the simple but meaningful activities of the company.
“It’s an honor to have you as our special guests. Through the years, you’ve been our partners in promoting progress not only in this community but to the whole country by helping us safeguard our transmission facilities and ensure NGCP’s smooth operations”, he said.
Galang said this is
the second time the NGCP held a gift giving activity in time for the Christmas season.
“Christmas is the time for sharing and this is just a way to share the blessings of the sole power transmission provider,” he added.
The children were treated to fun games and surprises with an appearance of Jollibee mascots and were given lunch boxes and school supplies.
The adults meanwhile received food packs and Noche Buena items. The families were then treated to lunch together with the company employees.
NGCP is a privately owned corporation in charge of operating, maintaining, and de- veloping the country’s power grid. It transmits high-voltage electricity through power superhighways including interconnected system of transmission lines, towers, substations, and related assets.
