A day in the life of art

-

ART is found everywhere, from nature to architecture to fashion. However, some would find it unconventional to have art to be part of their everyday lifestyle. Ms. Shari Distefano, Baguio’s local artist, challenges that idea. As an avid anime watcher, she is inspired by Japanese culture, therefore being able to integrate it into her style of clothes. It has even become a norm for her to change her hair color from time to time.

Ms. Distefano graduated in Animation NCII and is now working for a Japanese animation studio as an animator. Hardworking and endeavoring, she would showcase her talents and skills by selling her art pieces at different trade show such as the Tanabata Festival. Not to mention, she naturally has an enterprising spirit and would make homemade goodies and sell it at other bazaars as well.

Ms. Distefano gives an advice to other artists by mainly stating that some people might box you into being a “lazy artist”, but that shouldn’t shape you into being one. Also, artists will face a lot of upsand-downs but such is life as they would go through the process of living that creative life. And finally, she leaves us with these last pieces of tips: “keep track of time spent throughout the day, remove distractions, change environments to kick-start work, and procrastinate when necessary. Listen to music . . . snack . . . to keep the mood going.”
