TABUK CITY, Kalinga -Jollibee Foods Corporation has announced it is hiring 200 locals in time for the opening of the Filipino food chain’s first store here and in the entire province on February 18, next year, a company representative told officials in this city on Wednesday.

Franklin Papala, a representative of the company, said local recruitment was held on Monday at the city's Public Employment Service Office, with the aim to hire 200 service crew members for the store.

Papala said that the applicants also attended an orientation where details of the work were provided as well as the compensation that the workers would receive.

The Jollibee store in Tabuk will be located in Barangay Bulanao is a company-owned branch, not a franchise.

It will operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will have a drive-thru, catering and party services and with dine in and take out for both small and big orders.

Papala said a service crew is paid P290 daily or P36.25 per hour for a maximum of eight hours work per day. He also said as part of their requirements, applicants for service crew should at least be high school graduate or college undergraduate.

Papala pointed out the company does not discriminate as to age as long as the applicant is flexible, can work long hours, willing to work in shifts, competent and honest.

He said the first batch of service crew and store managers hired in July 2016, who had undergone training at Jollibee branches in Roxas, Tuguegarao City and Manila would still be interviewed, oriented and trained.

The opening of the Jollibee store in Tabuk is a much awaited event in the province.

The nearest branch of the popular food chain is still some three hours away, in Tuguegarao, Cagayan. PNA
