City High sneaks 5 titles in football for a cause

BSUALUMNI saved the best for last as it eked out a hard earned win in the men’s open division at the close of the Cordillera Binnadang Football for a cause at the Baguio Athletic Bowl recently.

BSU Alumni toppled Tenth Power in their finals showdown with the latter settling for second place in the tournament aimed to help raise funds to help families of the eight Cordillera­ns who were killed in Marawi.

Settling for third is Baguio United Football Club while salvaging fourth place is Pangasinan Football Club.

Special awards went to Rene Lasona (goalkeeper), Samuel Mendoza (best defender), Ahmed Lizano(best striker) while Nicanor Menzi was named the most valuable player.

In the ladies open, the fabled Baguio Ladies claimed the title besting Cordillera Binnadang Football Club while Pangasinan FC and Quezon Hill completed the top four.

Rachel Gasigas was named the best goal keeper with Regina Aliping bagging the best defender while the best striker went to Jaja Obidos as Ana Cabanilla took the MVP honors.

The 18 under boys category saw Baguio City High School winning the top honors while Benguet State University settled for second with Cordillera Binnadadan­g FC settling for third as Ilocos came hoem with a fourth place finish.

In the individual honors, Jes Lardizabal was named the MVP with Mark Bei (best goalkeeper), Dyrick Vicente (best defender) and Ivan Silva (best striker).

City high scored another victory in the 18 under girls beating CBFC while BSU and Guisad Valley National High School settled for third and fourth respective­ly.

Kara Alinsug snatched the MVP while Eden Tolingan took the best goalie, Lorjane Aludos as best defender, and Jan Aliya Malit as best striker.

The 15 under division saw City High scoring a hat trick as it edged Balili FC for the championsh­ip crown while Olongapo Kickers and Vigan Kugtaleros salvaged third and fourth place respective­ly. Ivan Silva was named the MVP in the division while best striker went to John Arce as Jesar Domagos was the best defender while Jude Nadera is the top goalie.

City High also took the top honors 15 under girls edging Quezon Hill as Regina Aliping weas named the MVP with Eden Tolingan as best goalie,Kylie Panagan as best defender, while Jan Aliya Malit is best striker.

In the 8 under division, Olongapo Kickers edged Quezon Elementary School for the crown with CBFC settling for third. Special awards went to Reniel Tan (best goalkeeper) Aey Mangdaan (best defender) Josh Ano (best striker) Angelo Banarez named MVP.

Dragonball kickers bagged the crown in the 10 under category while Quezon Elem. School salkvaged second as La Trinidad and Umingan was third and fourth respective­ly. Mytos Mesia was the best goal keeper while the best defender is Sam Istuka, Em Sabala as best striker while MVP is Myk Ano.

City High topped the 12 under division with Quezon Elem. School settling for second as Bonifacio Elem. School and Crystal Cave took home third and fourth place finish respective­ly.

Special awards went to Giovani Jeleko (best goalie) Pj Nanud (best defender) Kevin Cruz (best striker) while the MVP is Kirvy Tabelin.

In the special g – string competitio­n Quezon nipped Pinsao for the crown in the elementary division as Star College took the open division title. Roderick Osis
