23 fisheries scholarshi­p program up in Cordillera

THE BUREAU of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Cordillera opened 23 scholarshi­p slots for undergradu­ate students interested to pursue a four-year BS Fisheries Course.

In line with the 10th Nationwide Recruitmen­t and 23rd Leaders Examinatio­n, BFARCAR offers three scholarshi­p slots for the Fisheries Industry Leader and 20 slots under the Fisherfolk Children Education Grant.

Each scholar will avail of free tuition and other school fees (except dormitory rental), a monthly stipend of P4, 000; book allowance of P2,000; thesis support worth P7, 000 and graduation support of P1, 500.

Fisheries Industries Leaders applicants must be natural-born Filipino citizen, graduating high school stu-

dent not more than 25 years old and part of the Top Ten of the graduating class, with good moral character, and guardians are residents of the municipali­ty for at least six month.

Applicants for the Fisherfolk Children Education Fund, on the other hand, must be natural-born Filipino citizens, high school graduate not more than 25 years old, with good moral character, parents or guardians must be MAO or BFAR-CAR registered fisherfolk, and residents of the municipali­ty for at least six months.

Interested students must file their applicatio­n on or before February 2, to the regional office or any provincial office of BFAR-CAR. Examinatio­n will be held on February 24, in three testing centers – Bonifacio Elementary School, Guisad, Baguio City; Lamut, Ifugao; and in Luna, Apayao.
