The year 2018 for BSU ATBI/IC
Anewyear brings with it new beginnings, new hopes, and an undying optimism that this year will be better and kinder. Just like any office, organization, or group, we started the new year by looking at what transpired in the past and what we have learned. We then rethink about what we can do and what we can do better since we consider the BSU ATBI/IC as a startup trying to help start-ups. We develop and grow along with our target clients, the so called “incubatees” who are smallholder farmers, food processing and vending entrepreneurs.
As the farmers implemented strategies to improve their farming business, these became interesting features that are now being enjoyed by the community and the countless visitors to the La Trinidad Strawberry Farms. They are trying various acceptable, science and technologybased practices such as drip irrigation to conserve water, elevated farming of strawberry and high value crops to increase land productivity, container gardening, multiple cropping, among others. At this stage, the BSU ATBI/IC farm has also started to get some attention from local farmers who came to visit and learn.
True to its vision of contributing to a prosperous Cordillera region through technology business incubation, the Benguet State University Agribased Technology Business Incubator/Innovation Center (BSUATBI/IC) worked very closely with the “incubatees” to develop their enterprise. We also acknowledge the support of our partners such as the DTI, DA, La Trinidad-LGU, DOST-CAR, Embassy of Japan, GIZ, and countless individuals.
So what can we look forward to in the new year 2018?
