A KNOWN drug user in La Trinidad, Benguet was killed by still unidentified suspects on February 14.

Roland Guitala Abriam alias "Lokoy" was killed during a shooting incident outside Broadway Bar and Restaurant at the town’s vegetable trading post

Ambriam has been several times due to robbery and theft and in 2016 for illegal drugs.

Chief investigator SP04 Dino Sagayo said the victim sustained two gunshot wounds in his head and eight in the different parts of his body.

Sagayo added police received a call from a concerned citizen who

refused to be identified reported the shooting incident.

The victim was rushed to the Benguet General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Roland Alipio, who turned over two recovered unidentified bullets and the victims personal belongings.

Authorities are now eyeing two male suspects in the shooting incident.

The case is currently under investigation, which according to police is the first drug related shooting incident in the municipality this year.

In Baguio City, two men celebrated the day of the hearts behind bars after they were collared by anti-narcotics agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera and the Baguio Police Office in a sting operation at Barangay Lourdes Proper, Baguio City.

PDEA and police arrested Edilberto Almonte Cabestay alias Pogi, 40 – years – old, presently residing at Green Valley, Dontogan together with Bernardo Abenes Padayan Jr., 38 – years – old, of Yandoc Street, Kayang Extension after selling a heatsealed sachet containing suspected shabu worth P13,000 to an undercover agent.

The arrest yielded the buy-bust money used in the sting operation and a passenger jeepney used during the transaction.

Both suspects are temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR jail facility and will be charged before the proper authorities for violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act Number 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEA-Cordillera Information Officer Atty. Joseph Calulut said aside from the concerted effort of the PDEA and the Philippine National Police, the collaboration of the community in terms of information plays a major role in ridding the City of Baguio against these drug pushers operating in this area.
