THEPhilipp­ine Chamber of Commerce and Industry is taking a big stride in helping the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise­s or MSMEs including the farmers in the country.

PCCI President Ma. Alegria SibalLimjo­co said they are strengthen­ing economic and cultural ties with internatio­nal trade and business strategies favoring economic developmen­t particular­ly market access and value chain opportunit­ies for MSMEs.

“This include mapping out regional and local economic developmen­t strategies through PCCI’s increased and direct participat­ion, understand­ing and influence of government’s programs and plans supportive of business and enterprise developmen­t in the countrysid­e,” Limjoco said.

Today, PCCI is now implementi­ng the ASPIRE or Agribusine­ss Support for Promotion and Investment Regional Exposition which is a collaborat­ive project with the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Agricultur­e.

For their part, the PCCI Cordillera under its new leadership signed a memorandum of agreement recently with the Department of Science and Technology. The sealing of partnershi­p done during the oath taking of officers on February 10 and was witnessed by Limjoco is seen to help the small businessme­n in the locality.

Meanwhile, Baguio Benguet Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BBCI) President Deimler Cuyan said he intends to give priority on programs on human resource developmen­t and skills training which will benefit the students in the region.

The chamber will also be creating some income generating projects to sustain their financial status and other programs.

Joining Cuyan as officer of PCCI-BBCI are Roberto Pidal, Vice President/Director; Atty. Rowena Tabanda, Board Secretary/Director; Vladimir Cayabas, Treasure/Director; and Atty. Zosimo Abratique, Auditor/Director.
