The year of the Yang earth dog 2018 (Part 1)

BEFORE February 4, 2017, the solar start of the Yin Fire Rooster Year, our mentor, internationally acclaimed Feng Shui Grandmaster Raymond Lo, had already predicted that the stock market will crash.

True enough, with the energy of last year (February 4, 2017 to February 3, 2018) being yin Fire, signifying dwindling optimism, before the Rooster Year’s end, the stock market crashed.

Last year, GM Lo also said it would be a fiery year. Evidence of this was seen in the Philippines with major fires in many areas, the most devastating one being in Davao. Notable also was California’s forest fires, and the recent hospital fire in South Korea.

What about this year, the Year of the Yang Earth Dog?

The Yang Earth Dog began last February 4, 2018, but the recognised lunar start begins February 16.

Learning from our mentor GM Lo, we can confidently say that the year has too much Earth. The element of the year is Earth, and the element of the Dog is also Earth.

The good news is that agriculture, plant and wood based industries (textile, paper, pharmaceuticals, print media) will have a more successful year. Fire industries (restaurant, entertainment, airlines, petroleum, energy) would have a busy year. Construction, real estate, insurance, high tech software would have more competition.

We can also expect breakthroughs in the fields of science and medicine, archaeological discoveries, advances in robotics and artificial intelligence.

However, the energies of the year also mean that we can expect earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, mudslides, cave-ins, and more Earth related accidents.

The Yang Earth Dog also represents the road. If you’ve noticed, there have been many vehicular accidents lately, a lot of them fatal, due to the energy of the Dog, which is the absence of noblemen.

Not to worry. Like we say: forewarned is forearmed. Knowing that the year holds the possibility of more earthquakes, it is time to be prepared: stock up on necessary supplies, secure breakable items, make sure your homes are sturdy. Have an earthquake plan ready, drill your kids so they know what to do, where to go in the event of an earthquake.

At the same time, be more alert to avoid traffic accidents. This is the year to not text and drive. Chiara says look at where you’re going, not at your cellphones. Have your cars and tires maintained. Look both ways before crossing the street, drive safely.

Health wise, the earth energy represents sweets. Expect more weight gain, it will be harder to lose added pounds. With sweets you have carbohydrates, fats, cholesterol. The heart is affected. Digestive system is affected. Aa says it is a year of stomach aches. Watch out for the lungs and skin too.

So, eat healthy. Take your vitamins. Exercise, and get enough sleep.

This is also a good year to learn and practice meditation. Keep positive and focus on the bright side. At the same time, watch out for signs of depression. Too much of the earth energy can also be equated with too much thinking and contemplation. Have a break, take medication and counselling if necessary.

Last year, the year of the Rooster, misfortune was in the South. For us in the Philippines, there was terroristic activity and war in Marawi, Southern Philippines. This year, misfortune flies to the north. More about the year of the Dog, Flying Stars and affected directions next week.
