Bilog files estafa case against scam­mer

BAGUIO City Vice Mayor Edi­son Bilog is set to file estafa charges af­ter his name in­clud­ing his wife was dragged into a scam.

This de­vel­oped fol­low­ing the ar­rest of Mary Ann Al­coba, 28, and presently re­sid­ing at No. 064 Teng­dow Rd., Purok 12, Irisan who was nabbed by po­lice by virtue of a war­rant is­sued by Hon Maria Clarita Ca­suga-Tabin, Judge, MTCC, Branch 4 for estafa un­der CC No. 137402 with a rec­om­mended bail of P400,000 on March 7 by joint op­er­a­tives of Po­lice Sta­tion 9 and rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the Na­tional Bureau of In­ves­ti­ga­tion - Baguio

Bilog said he is set to file a P10 mil­lion estafa case against the sus­pect al­leg­ing Al­coba used his name and sig­na­ture in­clud­ing his wife in check­ing ac­counts to en­tice her would be vic­tims.

Barangay Andres Boni­fa­cio vil­lage chief JP Ponce was also dragged into Al­coba's scam with­out the knowl­edge of Ponce.

"We con­sid­ered the case as large scale since the sus­pect vic­tim­ized 20 per­sons, aside from the cost the sus­pect placed in the checks and ac­counts which she stated to be my check­ing ac­counts and sig­na­ture," Bilog ex­pressed.

Bilog called on other vic­tims to co­or­di­nate with his0 of­fice for them to make ad­di­tional and ap­pro­pri­ate charges against the sus­pect.
