Bilog files estafa case against scammer
BAGUIO City Vice Mayor Edison Bilog is set to file estafa charges after his name including his wife was dragged into a scam.
This developed following the arrest of Mary Ann Alcoba, 28, and presently residing at No. 064 Tengdow Rd., Purok 12, Irisan who was nabbed by police by virtue of a warrant issued by Hon Maria Clarita Casuga-Tabin, Judge, MTCC, Branch 4 for estafa under CC No. 137402 with a recommended bail of P400,000 on March 7 by joint operatives of Police Station 9 and representatives of the National Bureau of Investigation - Baguio
Bilog said he is set to file a P10 million estafa case against the suspect alleging Alcoba used his name and signature including his wife in checking accounts to entice her would be victims.
Barangay Andres Bonifacio village chief JP Ponce was also dragged into Alcoba's scam without the knowledge of Ponce.
"We considered the case as large scale since the suspect victimized 20 persons, aside from the cost the suspect placed in the checks and accounts which she stated to be my checking accounts and signature," Bilog expressed.
Bilog called on other victims to coordinate with his0 office for them to make additional and appropriate charges against the suspect.
