Gun running group collared

EIGHT alleged members of the Bagni Group were finally arrested in a simultaneo­us operation for violation of loose firearm of Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) by virtue of search warrant.

Combined personnel of Tuba MPS, CIDG RFU -CAR and Benguet PMFC arrested the suspects identified as Reymund Barbero Bagni, Gordon Jackson Walis, Gilbert Balacdey Loreto, Shobert Sumalnap Ubuagan, all of legal age and residents of Naguilian, Sallapadan, Abra; Eljhon Ubuagan Sumalnao, Florencio Ayao Beronilla, Dearly Langgi Beronilla, and Jerome Berona Guerrero, all of legal age and natives of Sallapadan, Abra.

They were all captured at sitio Barakbak, Brgy. Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet in the morning of September 25.

Raymund Bagni is believed to be the leader

of the group and alleged NPA member who surrendere­d during the Marcos regime while the members are alleged members of the CPLA.

Their group were engaged in a gun running and land grabbing activities of which some prominent personalit­ies were using them of their criminal acts.

Judge Danilo Camacho issued their search warrant which resulted in the confiscati­on of three shotgun, two cal .22 rifle, one M16 rifle, five magazine for M16 rifle, four magazine assembly for Cal.22, three ammos for 12 gauge shotgun, and 38 ammunition for M16 were confiscate­d.

The arrest was a result of PRO - COR’s campaign against loose firearm and the dismantlin­g of organize groups in the Cordillera region.
