Various accidents listed in Cordillera

THE POLICE Regional Office Cordillera continue to remind motorists to be mindful and observe traffic discipline following multiple vehicular traffic accidents recorded in two days in the region.

A motorcycle back rider died at the hospital after he was hit by a dump truck in the evening of October 12 along the National Highway at Brgy. Tumog, Luna, Apayao.

The victim was identified Den Mark Barroga Lupadit who was declared dead on arrival at the Far North Luzon General Hospital and Training Center while his 17 - year old companion sustained injuries.

Police are now conducting hot pursuit operations for the possible identifica­tion and arrest of the driver of the dump truck.

In Abra, a motorcycle bumped a pedestrian while traversing the Abra-Kalinga Road, in Zone 7, Bangued, heading towards Bangued Town Plaza.

Nora Millan Balauro, 76, widower, was declared dead by the attending physician at the Abra Provincial Hospital after sustaining severe left leg and head injury after she was bumped by the motorcycle driven by Henry Trinidad Tejero, 35, married, driver, with his backride passenger identified as Julius Macarimbam Tejero, 30, single, both residents of Deet, Tayum.

who were both rushed to Seares Hospital for medical treatment and confined for observatio­n, while the case is under investigat­ion.

On October 13, a dump truck owned by Department of Public Works and Highways driven by Romy Chomis Digmayo, 38, married and resident of Topdac, Atok, Benguet, bumped into a mixer owned by Jomarcan Company driven by Dexter Fines Reyes, 26, single, resident of Middle Rock Quarry, Baguio City.

Investigat­ion showed the dump truck collided with the other vehicle in the opposite direction at a sharp curve portion of the highway. Mo persons were injured during the incident.

Earlier in Sablan, Benguet, a truck and sports utility vehicle collided at Upper Palali, Poblacion after a red Asian utility vehicle from the opposite lane tried to overtake vehicles in front of it.

According to police, SUV driver Ruben Abina Cervantes tried to applied the brakes to give way to the approachin­g vehicle but was suddenly bumped by the truck driven by Danny Balsomo Frayres from behind. No person was injured during the said incident. Both parties agreed to settle the case.

In Baguio City, Samuel Tactay Forto Jr., 30, single, DOJ employee and resident of #91 Bengao, Bakakeng Central was slightly injured when his motorcycle collided with a taxi driven by Wyndell Ducusin Orlando, 40, married, driver and resident of #47 Camp 8, Kennon Road.

Investigat­ion disclosed Forto Jr. who was subsequent­ly brought to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment came from the direction of Ferguson Road, turning left towards Tacay Road when it collided with the taxi who came from Ferguson Road, turning left towards Tacay Road.

After the impact, both motorcycle and vehicle were removed from its original position while Forto was positive of alcoholic breath test as per medico-legal certificat­e issued by BGHMC.

Responding personnel of Station 2, confiscate­d the driver's licenses and OR/CR from the drivers involved for evidentiar­y purposes and were turned-over to Traffic Enforcemen­t Unit.

In Tuba, Benguet another vehicular accident transpired involving a forward truck loaded with assorted detergent soap driven by Robert Sampang Guevarra, 42, married, No.0775 Camino St., San Isidro, San Luis, Pampanga.

Investigat­ion disclosed the vehicle was traversing the area whe the vehicle incurred loose break.

The driver eventually lost control of the steering wheel, causing it to swerve at the right portion of the road.

As a result, the vehicle incurred severe damages on its right side, while the driver to include his four helpers namely Mark Joseph Villarante Valle, 26, single, resident of Old Balara Diliman, Quezon City; Marvin Abdul Ortega Caratig, 24, single, resident of Brgy. Tenhero, Candaba, Pampanga; Jefferson Santos Aquino, 23, single, resident of Candaba, Pampanga and Rolando Alvares Tolentino, 25, single, resident of Dalayap, Pampang were all rushed by personnel of Tuba MPS and responding EMS-Tuba to Baguio General Hospital for treatment.
