Benguet police continue their relentless drive closing illegal small scale mines in Itogon, Benguet as part of ‘Oplan Itogon’ being implemented by the National Task Force – Mining Challenge composed of joint operatives from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, the Benguet Electric Cooperative and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and its attached agencies including the Mines and Geosciences Bureau and the Environmental Management Bureau.
