Wa-o out, Lastrilla in for boxing for a cause
AFTER several postponement, the boxing for a cause will finally push through today, November 6, at the CCDC Gym in Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The nine bout event featured by Highland Boxing Promotions and DMAD Promotion was initially slated October 30 but was moved as typhoon Rosita threatened Northern Luzon.
However, Darwin Miller Depa-ay of DMAD Boxing Promotion said Rex Wa-o will no longer top bill he fund raising event meant for the victims of
Typhoon Opmong in Ttogon.
“Due to health reasons, Rex Wa-o will be substituted by his teammate Ivor Lastrilla who just won via KO in Japan last July 2018,” said Dep – ay.
Lastrilla of La Trinidad, Benguet will take on Dan Manosa (Metro Manila) for the LUZPROBA lightweight title.
In the co-main event, Jelbirt Gomera of La Trinidad, Benguet will take on Lloyd Jardeliza for the LuzProBA featherweight title while Romshane Sarguilla (La Trinidad, Benguet) squares off against Mervin Lulu (Malabon City) for the LuzProBA super flyweight title.
In the supporting bouts, a super featherweight bout between Rey Juntilla (La Trinidad, Benguet) and Junjie Lauza (Cavite) is expected to thrill fight fans while a super flyweight bout between Benjie Bartolome (La Trinidad, Benguet) and Lony Cadayday (La Trinidad, Benguet) will also take place.
Ador Torres of La Trinidad, Benguet squares off against Alejandro Anas of Baguio City in a six rounder middleweight contest while a featherweight match will be up between Mj Uduna of Kiangan, Ifugao and Gary Tamayo of Metro Manila.
Super bantamweights Jhun-Jhun Jimenez (Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya) and Marklin Itim clash in four rounds with flyweight Romeo Tenorio of La Trinidad, Benguet taking on Joshua Padual of Bulacan.
Saskia Fagyan of Bontoc, Mt. Province and Aryette Bayachan of La Trinidad, Benguet will raise the curtain in a three round amateur bout.
